Take some time today to think about all the people living with HIV/AIDS and how can you support your friends and family in this cause. Regardless if you are personal living with or have friends and family who are, you can support this great cause.
A guy once told me because he wasn’t personally diagnosed so he didn’t see the need to support HIV/AIDS causes for research, education and support. Why? Just because I am not doesn’t mean that I don’t want to support my friends and family living with HIV/AIDS. This is disease that all of us are living with in our World. With our love and support we can make it better each day until the day we no longer have to live with it anymore because a cure is found.
One great way to support World AIDS day is by purchasing a drink from Starbucks today. They are donating 5 cents for every drink purchased today to the (red) campaign. It may not seem like a lot but you can imagine how many drinks they sell on a regular basis? How much more are they going to sell when you spread the world and join in?

I had a very disappointing experience with this guy I was interested in dating, I told him that a friend was diagnosed with being HIV+ back in 1987 and he basically said it was his fault, because EVERYONE knows how to have safe sex back in 1987, This was a current conversation back in 1987. Granted I grew up in a small town in Michigan, and after I moved to Seattle I learned A LOT about HIV and AIDS. There wasn’t much information available about HIV and AIDS in small towns.
I was completely SHOCKED! Here this guy was doing his residency to be a medical doctor and he had such a judgmental attitude. Frankly I lost complete interest in him after he said that. His complete lack of compassion was a total turn off.
I am glad to see Starbucks is doing something for world AIDS day, however I don’t think it is every Starbucks drink, but just certain beverages.
Perhaps, you could try something new so your purchase will benefit world AIDS day!

Today only it is all drinks. For the rest of the month it is only a select three but they are still donating if you order that one. It is sad how people react to people who are HIV Pos or have AIDS. We still treat them poorly as a community and there is always judgement. Not a good thing.
