Every year Florida goes through hurricane season. Right now we are about to be hit with our first storm, Tropical Storm Fay.
Of course all the news reports state you need to get your hurricane kit out and once again, I turn to my closet where an empty box sits. I keep saying I will gather the supplies but I always forget. Why do I keep putting it off?
Maybe it is because I believe storms will never come. Maybe I do not want to set myself up knowing they COULD come. Whatever the reason, it makes no sense living in Florida and not having the kit ready each year.
I did run out and get the few supplies I could think of. I bought…
- Yankee candles because if you are going to lose power you night lights so why not also have them make the house smell nice.
- Batteries for flashlights as well as my portable fans because I can not live without a/c and NO fans.
- Jiff peanut butter because I live on peanut butter.
- Stori Telling - Tori Spelling’s book so I would have something fun to read if the power is out.
Yes I need not get the most needed supplies but ones I thought would work for me. :) So I promised myself I would make a better kit once the storm has passed. It was not good for my safety to delay any further with preparing.
What is something you keep putting off, that you should be doing today?

Three things…1.), I’m jealous that you’re home and not stuck at work hoping you don’t get washed away like I am. 2.) I get to read Tori’s book after you’re done with it and 3.) You bought the man candle, didn’t you?

Of course you can borrow the book!
I am surprised they did not let you out of work but each company makes their choices. Some good, some not so good.
It wasn’t the man candle scent (MidSummer Night) it was Sun and Sand my new favorite!!
