Do you have a goal you have been working on but have not shared it with anyone? Why not?

I think one of the main reasons we do not share our goals with others is accountability. We are afraid once we say it out loud to then we will really have to do it. Not only because we have now verbalized it but because our friends and family will know if we succeed or fail.

I know I always achieve better results when I share my goals with my friends and family. It makes me take my goal serious and really put the work into making them happen. Now I have cheerleaders helping support me along the way and they keep me motivated to achieve my goal.

With that said, I am going to share a goal with all of you. I have set a goal to increase my email blog subscribers. I am hoping that I can gain more people who will enjoy my blog and decide to receive my blog updates in their email each day. I am hoping all of you will help me out by forwarding my blog to people you feel would enjoy reading what I have to say. Please encourage them to even comment because I love the interaction.

Maybe they will even subscribe by email and help me achieve my goal. Who wouldn’t want a little Michael in their email each morning? :)

If you enjoyed this post, make sure you subscribe!

Hey thank you so much for this post… all of them really, it is a treat every morning…
As for this post, I fall into the category of keeping my goals to myself for fear of failure in front of friends and family. I think that we all have this fear that people will think less of us because we fail sometimes… lol… but we all do… I know that when someone else shares a goal with me and they fall short, I do all I can to sympathize and encourage, so why should I be scared of the outcome… my latest goal (among many included on my working lifelist) is to get fit (isn’t that everyone’s goal?). I have a gym membership that works itself out… right out of my wallet… but I have now secured have a gym partner, although today was supposed to be our first day & we were both up at 5:00 am… neither of us called the other… we didn’t want to wake each other up… lol.. we have a better understanding now… Tomorrow!
Anyways… sorry to ramble on… Hope you have a great day…

    Daniel,

You can ramble anytime you want. I love to ramble myself! :)

It is hard when we fail and we do not want to everyone to see it. You learn the most from your mistakes so I have learned to let go of the fear of failing because it actually helps me to achieve my goal in the end. Those failures actually just help us better prepare to achieve the final goal.

I love that you are working on your life list! I love life lists and that is huge for me! I was thinking about having a free teleseminar where everyone from the blog could just talk about ways to achieve more from their life list. I thought it would be a fun activity!

I had a gym membership for awhile and I realized I was spending a monthly fee for a smoothie bar and Tropical Smoothie was way cheaper. :) Since I have the wii Fit I have been doing better plus I have the 5K coming up. Fitness is something I need a buddy to maintain as well. It is also could to have someone to help you out.

Look! I just rambled as well. :)

    yes… rambling is nice.
I think the teleseminar is a great idea… It would be a good time for us to review our life list and get “pumped” again about our goals.

Michael, who is your inspiration? Zig Zigler?
I went to a dynamic living camp as a kid, it was run by a man named Skip Ross.
He has a book out, however I believe it is out of print called “Say YES to your Potential”
I found it on Amazon.com for somewhere around 2ยข
It is money well spent. Oh don’t forget shipping! LOL
    Take Care-
    Brad

What a great book. I have never read it but I have heard it mentioned many times before.

You mean to tell me from ur daily blog, I can get an e-mail as well. That’s like double the Michael and double the fun to start my day. ^_^ But after reading the comments, I really need to hit the gym more often. I keep planning to go, but working out and making me feel better about myself, really cuts into my sitting around time. But you’re right, it does help if you have someone there to encourage you and cheer you on. It’s no fun going to the gym by yourself. It’s boring and if you’re like me, you would do a just job and not a great job. Having someone there to help you and push you to go further is worth it.

Isn’t that great? You can never have enough Michael!! LOL :)

It is so true. You need that push and drive to make it happen. You just have to think about what will get you excited and committed to making it happen. Once you do, you will have the first step to move you forward.
