I have told friends for years that you have to acknowledge and celebrate the positive things in your life. So often it seems that people overlook these mini victories, but sometimes we have to pat ourselves on the back for a job well done. It doesn't have to be extravagant, I usually treat myself to something simple, like a great cup of coffee from Volcanoes or just a DVD I've been wanting. The world moves so quickly that if we sit around waiting for others to say "well done", we may be waiting for a loooooong time. Its not that they're self-centered or don't recognize what we have accomplished, its just that, like us, they're always on the run-run-run and don't always take the time to recognize the hard work of others or even themselves.
