Sweet! Celebration

Do you celebrate your achievements? Do you only celebrate when you finish or when you take the the steps?

Celebration is so important to keep you motivated and moving in the right direction. I use to be so bad at celebrating my successes. I would always be thinking of what to do next and not enjoying what I just did. Yes it got me to a lot of achievements but they never felt as fulfilled.

Once I started to truly take the time to celebrate, it became easier to achieve more and more. It wasn’t that I stopped planning what was next. I just learned to take the time to celebrate what I did. This helped me stay motivated and encouraged to keep striving for more.

I am now moving on to another way of celebrating. I am not only celebrating when I succeed but also when I achieve a step in a goal.

Right now I have been very excited about this new opportunity that has knocked on my door. I really have wanted this for awhile and took steps to make it happened. I just completed a major step and I have to wait now to see if all the work will pay of this time.

Regardless of the way it turns out. It won’t stop me from trying again. Just getting this far is important enough and shows I can do it. So I celebrated.

I celebrated by enjoying a wonderful red velvet cupcake from a place in Orlando called Sweet! They make the best gourmet cupcakes. So rich, so pretty and oh so good.

If achieving a dream has a taste, that taste would be a Sweet! Red Velvet cupcake.

    THANK YOU!
I have told friends for years that you have to acknowledge and celebrate the positive things in your life. So often it seems that people overlook these mini victories, but sometimes we have to pat ourselves on the back for a job well done. It doesn’t have to be extravagant, I usually treat myself to something simple, like a great cup of coffee from Volcanoes or just a DVD I’ve been wanting.

The world moves so quickly that if we sit around waiting for others to say “well done”, we may be waiting for a loooooong time. Its not that they’re self-centered or don’t recognize what we have accomplished, its just that, like us, they’re always on the run-run-run and don’t always take the time to recognize the hard work of others or even themselves.

So let me be the first to say this morning … “Well done, Michael, you’re a constant source of motivation! Treat yourself to another red velvet cupcake!”

    Bishop,

It is so true. Sometimes we are waiting for other’s to say thank you or appreciate us. Sometimes we think others will throw us a party.

Can’t wait for them! Throw yourself the party and invite whoever you want. It is your life and you don’t want to live it waiting for others.

Congratulations on completing you MAJOR step! :-)
It seems like you are being very vague about what your goal is and what was the major step that you accomplished.
Perhaps if you share your goals out loud there *might* be someone out there to help make your goals a reality!
When I wanted to start my own business, if I didn’t say anything then I wouldn’t have been put in touch with a CPA who was instrumental in me getting my biggest client. :-)
The cupcake sounds so YUMMY! :-)
I am very proud of you! I just wish I knew what you were celebrating so I could enjoy a Red Velvet cupcake along with you!
    Take Care-
    Brad

    Brad

I know I shouldn’t be vague but part of me doesn’t want to jinx it. The other part of me wants it to happen on its own. I really believe in this opportunity and I wouldn’t want others to think bad of it, if it doesn’t go my way. it may just not be my time, but MY time will come! :)

But I so agree with you. It is great to share them out loud. I should know by the end of this week or next and I will share the new either way. :)
