Since I am turning 30 this year, I have to admit I do not feel any different from when I was 18. I have had a lot more life experiences and I have been here on Earth longer but I feel the same. It is encounters with other people that remind you that you are in fact older than you feel.I was headed to a friend’s tropical themed party and decided I should drop by the store to bring something festive to the party. I walked into the liquor store and didn’t know what to bring since I don’t drink. I searched the aisle for something that looked festive and all of the sudden decided on bringing a golden margarita mix to the party. I pick up my new find and head to the counter.
The cashier rings up my purchase and I pull out my ID right away but in my shock, he doesn’t ask for it. He tells me my total instead and waits for me to pay. As I fumble to remove my debit card I ask if he wanted to see my ID. He responds simply, “No sir. You are fine.”
Not only did he not check my ID but I got a sir! It was then I was once more reminded that I am leaving my 20’s and entering my 30’s. Yes I may have been wearing plaid shorts and an American Eagle t shirt with flip flops but I wasn’t under 21 anymore. He knew that and so did I. Did he make me feel old? Not at all! I choose how young I feel.

See now you can be thankful because they don’t call you sir and just let you in.

Ahhh well don’t feel too bad… you’re a HOT 30 year old
I know how you feel though… I’m now 29 and have always thought that 29 would be an odd age to be…I never met a guy who was 29 and hot…
Anyway, my realization that I was getting old came to me when I was 26 and I was online talking to someone who was a bit younger… when all of a sudden he asked how old I was and then proceeded to tell me that I was beyond his age range.. that he only associates with people 18-23… I felt like, “When the hell did I get ‘old’?”
The moral of the story is… don’t worry about it. You’re HOT at 30 :)) Love your blog by the way

Thank you so much for the story and the great encouragement.
That is such a true story about age. It is all how you see it at the age you are. When we were younger we could not imagine someone being 29 and then we are 29 and it shocking when people say we are out of their range.
Thank you for reading!

Ha ha, so funny, and so true. I just turned 30, but I feel the same as I did when I was younger. I feel a lot more confident than I did then, and I’ve had a ton more life experiences to learn and grow from, but I still feel young at heart, and always plan to.
Thanks for your great blogs. I just subscribed today, and I’m already loving them very much.
