Last year in October I wrote: 30 Goals for my 30th Year Now that it has been a year (and a few months…) it is time to check in and see how I did.
Here are are the goals I completed:
- Go on the segway tour at EPCOT – Rode a segway, not this one.
- Go to Vegas – DONE!
- Complete a 5K and get a medal – DONE!
- Complete my first book – In progress and almost done…
- Work on my fear of flying – DONE! Not perfect but much better!
- Participate in National Novel Writing Month – Yes I did!
- Go to Not So Scary Mickey’s Halloween Party – DONE!
- Go for a walk at least 4 days a week – Much better, needs to be consistent.
- Keep a gratitude journal – DONE!
- Work on one thing a month to simplify my life – DONE!
- Double my current blog subscribers – DONE!
- See Cirque “O” Show – DONE!
- Work on reducing stress in my life with an activity a month – DONE!
- See the Bellagio fountains – DONE!
- See Cirque Zummanity show – DONE!
- See the Fremont Street Experience – DONE!
- Continue to work on eating healthier – Better but the Fried Oreos did not help…
- Break the habit of sleeping with the TV on – DONE!
But Michael, what happens to the ones you did not complete? Good question!
As I am working on my goals for the new year, I will review the ones I did not complete. I need to see why I did not complete them.
- Did I not really want it?
- Do I no longer want it?
- Did I lose my commitment to it?
- Do I need to refocus on it?
Now I create my new list. Add goals I still need to work on, delete ones and add new ones. The new year gives you an opportunity to refocus.
Once my list is complete, I will post it for everyone to see. I would love to hear one or two or all of your goals. Drop me a message on Facebook or in the comments. We can cheer each other on!

Michael, please share what you did to break the habit of sleeping with the tv on! It is such a sore point in my marriage…we sleep in seperate beds every night, just because I can’t sleep w/out the tv. I set the timer, and fall asleep, but my husband wakes up before timer goes off (while I’m still in light stage of sleep) and turns it off. I immediately wake up. I try to lay there in the dark silence and fall back asleep, but I start feeling severe claustrophobia, and I have to get up, go to another room, and turn the tv on.
HOW DID YOU DO IT????
