Yes, I have always wanted to go on a segway tour. I do not know why, maybe it is the inner dork in me but I thought this would be a great adventure.
Of course, this has been on my Life List for while and I just never made time to do it. Finally, this past weekend I was able to make it happen!
April, Traci and I had plans for Saturday which got canceled so we decided to keep the day open for ideas to still have a good time. We brainstormed many different ideas and finally settled on the segway tour.
We moved it to Sunday morning so it wouldn’t be rained out or too hot in town. Sunday we arrived ready to go.
I will not lie that I was nervous when I first got there. What if I couldn’t stop it? What if I fell? I did not know what was going to happen but I was there ready to risk my life.
What I would find out is riding the segway is similar to the wii fit board which I use all the time. So very quickly I was able to get control and move around with no problem. We were all doing well until…
April started to drift backwards. We screamed for her to stand up but she went faster and faster backwards almost hitting the curb. Traci and I had no choice but to turn away and hope for the best as one of the tour guides helped April slow down before disaster.
It was so nice riding around Baldwin Park, which is a neighborhood in Orlando, and noticing all the details you do not see driving in your car. We spend most of the time by the beautiful landscapes, very unique houses as well as the two lakes located on the property.
I was glad I was able to cross this item off my Life List but of course, this doesn’t mean I won’t do it again. Remember, I haven’t done the EPCOT segway tour yet…

Thanks for sharing EVERYTHING Michael…I especially enjoyed the concern you and Traci had for me before I fell back to my death. I’m ok now, really I am LOL
It was a great day to spend with friends!

April,
You know it would have even been funnier if you did fall.
I am glad you did not though. I believed in your and your ability to stand up.
