This is week nine in Nick’s and I’s personal “If… Project” in which we answer questions from the book “If… (Questions for the Game of Life)”

There are 125 pages of this book, each with four questions. I plan to take one page each week and answer the questions as thoroughly and honestly as I am able. In addition, I invite you to answer the questions along with me, whether it be in the comments section, your own personal blog, or just within your own thoughts.

Perhaps in doing so, we will get to know each other better, but even more importantly, get to know ourselves better.

This week’s questions:

If you could own one painting from any collection in the world but were not allowed to sell it, which work of art would you select?

Oh I know the exact painting. I have always loved this painting and was so excited whenever in college we get this period of time because I knew they would talk about it.

Botticelli’s Birth of Venus.

I just love this painting. I do not know what it is but it is so beautiful to me. I can not take my eyes off of it. This is one of those works of art that will be remembered forever. It is going to be even better now that I own it and it will be in my living room. LOL

If you could have chosen your own first name, other than your current one, what would it be?

I like Michael and I am glad that is my name. BUT, I would have loved to been Alex. I have always thought that was a cool name. I am kind of a fan of Preston now. Such a distinguished name. I think this is the name my friend Steph was thinking about for one of her sons someday.

If you could have seduced one person that you knew in your lifetime (but didn’t), who would you select?

I can not think of someone that I missed out on. I really think I flirted with the people I wanted. I really can not think of of anyone. It took me a few hours of thinking to realize either I was very picky with the guys I liked or I was just a slut. :)

If you were instantly able to play one musical instrument perfectly that you never have played before, what would it be?

I am going to say the guitar. The reason is everyone in my family plays it except me. I have never been musically inclined. I think it would be great to be able to play with them or with other people. It is also a good instrument because you can have it in your room and not take up a lot of space. Piano is nice but where would you keep one? Keyboards are not the same. :) If you are going to play piano you need to go all out and have the giant black shiny grand piano.

Those are my answers to this week’s questions. What are yours?

    1) Anything by MC Escher would really satisfy me, though I’m horribly biased at the moment since a large part of my job these days is studying his style.

    2) Hmmmm… I feel like a… Mortimer.

    3) This guy Sebastian back in LA. The sexual tension in the room, woo, you could cut it with a knife. It was very tempting. Whatever the reason, I opted not to go for it, much to his disappointment. Still, empowering to know that I could resist my hormones to the point of leaving a super model cold. I feel differently about it these days, though.

    4) hmmm… well, I play three instruments, but I’m a farcry from perfection with them. Sax, Violin, and Keyboard. My violin could probably use the most improvement, and a little discipline wouldn’t kill my keyboarding either. But if I could take up a fourth instrument with absolute perfection instantly…totally tuba. :-p

Thanks for sharing! Hopefully one day a NEW Sebastian may pop into your life. Who knows which way you will go this time…
