ICE!

Posted In: Coaching, Holidays by Michael

On Thanksgiving, I went with Justin to see ICE.  At the Gaylord Palms Resort in Orlando they produce a great holiday display each year. It is a walk through exhibit of GAINT sculpted scenes made completely of ice. Of course, being Florida we do not normally get to see things as this because of our warm weather. The whole exhibit is kept at 9 degrees and they give you coats to wear.

Not only is it a great way to ignore the holidays and experience the cold BUT they have a whole scene which is designed as a toy-land with 3 giant ice slides. Justin and I arrived very early., so we were the first in the exhibit which meant we were the first to arrive in the ice slide room. The employees are so excited to see us and invite us to go down the slides. Justin has already said he doesn’t want to go down the slides.

Why would you not go down the ice slides? I know he is not scared of them. I know slides are fun so why not? Could he be afraid of what other people would think?

I run of the stairs to the first slide and talk him into going on the tallest slide. After I get off the slide, I find him smiling at the bottom of his slide. I walk with him up so we both can go down the last slide.

What is people had been in that room, would Justin chosen not to go down the slide? Why would you miss out on having fun because you are afraid of what others may think? What would you do in your life if you weren’t afraid of what others would think?
