Great suggestion. I know I have thought from time to time that just taking a day off of work could throw off my entire week and minimize my effectiveness because I would be playing catch up. I think I may have to incorporate your "day off" from life alternaview into my plan. Although it may appear you are not doing what you should because you are missing a day of work, in actuality you are increasing your effectiveness and productivity by finding those moments to recharge. As you suggested, it is so easy to get caught up in the commotion of life, but some time you really do need to take a "time out" and reconnect. Thanks for the reminder and the alternaview.

I usually take an hour a day for myself. I turn off all electronics and lock myself in my room. During that one hour I think about what emotions I've been feeling/were feeling, and I ask myself why I feel that way. Another thing I ask myself is "am I still going the direction I want to go in life."

I find it to be very therapeutic and sometimes I'll 'meditate' for more than an hour.

Sick day from life? Interesting idea.

Ideally, we should all be taking at least one day off every week, but it doesn't seem to happen. The "sick day from life" is the next best thing...

Wonderful idea, Michael..A sick day from life. Count me in.

Do I need to get someone to write an absence note for me? I am already thinking of funny and creative things to put in this absence note!!!
