Even during these rough times, you maybe thankful you have a job but it doesn’t mean you still won’t want to kill them for something they say or do.
Here my suggestions on how not to kill your boss:
Do not take it personal – Just because they are bitter, mean, having a bad day or all of these at once doesn’t mean it has to ruin your day.
Remember you are in control – Sometimes we forget that we are adults and are in control of what we do and what we do not do. Just because the boss says do it, doesn’t mean we will. We have a choice.
It is not worth it – When they make their catty remarks or backstab you in a meeting, you do not need to fight back. Fighting back places you in war. When they are the only one in the battle, everyone sees them for who they are.
Don’t debate – When the boss tells you what their perception of things are or how they feel, you do not need to prove your side. This is their view and you have your own. Until they can show you that is not just based on perception or feelings, then their argument doesn’t work. No one has ever been fired on perception or feelings.
Don’t kiss ass – Kissing ass makes you one thing, an ass kisser. You should treat everyone the same regardless if it is a team member, employee, customer or your boss. Sure you will like more than others and that is fine. But there is no need to kiss ass. Your performance should be enough to impress.
You do not have to like them – You really do not have to like your boss. I hope you respect them but that comes from the boss giving your respect in return. We all have to work together but you never have to be best friends with your boss or go to lunch with them.
I hope these few hints will help you survive another day at work!

Wow, I can’t tell you how many times these thoughts went through my head with our last Dean. She was such a b***h. All her decisions and actions were based on her own personal motivation.
And we won’t even discuss the obvious “ass-kisser” on faculty (you know who I mean)
You were the best Dean that campus ever had! How could you have abandoned us? LOL

Wow. I had the worst day. This is a perfect post. I wish I could just copy it right onto my blog. My boss is so awful! I feel like crying!

Almost all of these would work from me but my boss is a want to be drill instructor that thinks he is gods gift to the world and if you dont live like him your trash on the road. Oh I forgot to say he is also my grandpa and I live with him! its a living nightmare. I dont always take it so well expecally when he talkes about how crappy of a job my mom did at raising me. Im not exacally shure how much long I can take it with him, befor I loose it with him.
