A friend of mine, Tony sent me a message the other day…
“So my friend went to Orlando for a concert and said she hung out with this great guy. He was so sweet and funny. She had a great time hanging out with him and took his picture because she knew he was perfect for me. It was you!”
Tony and I laughed at this. Of course he friend would find the perfect guy and it would be someone he already knew and was friends with. What a small world!
Now, I only spent about 15 minutes hanging out with the girls from NKOTB. That wasn’t a lot of time but I was grateful that she felt I was such a nice guy that she would want to introduce me to her friend. This was a huge compliment and says a lot about first impressions.
When you are authentic to who you are, people learn tons more about you in a shorter amount of time. They don’t have to weed through all the fake stories, self protecting machinisms and polished outside coating. They get to know the real you right away.
I am happy I made an impression on the girls that night. I hope I make a positive impression on all the people I interact with.
