Michael’s Favorite Things

As we know this is the greatest shopping day of the year. I love Oprah’s favorite things so I like to share some of my favorite things each year to introduce you to some of the great things I have experienced through out the year:

1. iPhone – I do not know what I did without this!! I really love my iPhone and want to let everyone know I think it is so worth the price. I love the way it handles text messages like conversations simple to process. I love how easy it is to check my email from anywhere. Having your music with you is always nice PLUS you can add such cool applications to store information, make life simple and just fill the time when you are waiting in line.

2. Cirque La Nouba – I am a big fan of Cirque and Orlando happens to be home to the show that introduced it to me, La Nouba. It is a great show and every time I see it, it amazes me. I recommend you see it in person but you can not, they have released the DVD of the show. I think after seeing it, you might even enjoy the soundtrack as I do.

3. NAP Blanket – Have you ever touched this blanket at Brookestone? It is so soft and such a nice way to relax. Currently I am getting a new one for my bed. I do not know but once I feel it wrapped around me, I feel all the stress leave my body and just drift away to sleep. You will have to give it a try.

4. Lay It on Think – This is one of my favorite new body products I use. You can buy it at Bed and Body works and it is a great think lotion for all your dry parts. It goes on smooth and it has a nice light and simple scent. Right now, they even have it in a nice holiday body.

5. Happier – I have shared this book before but I enjoyed it so much I want to add it to my favorite things of this year. This book is a simple read but full of great activities to help you move your life to the journey of making it happier. It is all about changing your perspective and allowing you to live your life.

Those are 5 of my favorite things this year. What are some of yours?

  8. Do a random act of kindness

How to Stay Young

My friend Becky sent this to me. I thought it was wonderful and needed to be shared.

George Carlin’s How to Stay Young
1.Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay “them.”

2.Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.

3.Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. “An idle mind is the devil’s workshop” And the devil’s name is Alzheimer’s.

4.Enjoy the simple things.

5.Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.

6.The tears happen.  Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

7.Surround yourself with what you love, whether it’s family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever.  Your home is your refuge.

8.Cherish your health:  If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9.Don’t take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.

10.Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:
“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but  by the moments that take our breath away.”
