Life List Guided Journal

After the great call on Thursday, I wanted to follow up with a few resources.

(If you were unable to make the call, you can still register to receive the recording.)

I talked about this great site to visit which can inspire your life list. It is called 43things

I also gave you a few prompts to get you started on your own life list. You can find them all on the recording BUT here is another resource I created to help you jump start your list.

The Life Life Guided Journal

There are TONS of prompts through out this book you can use to help you add even more to your list and get your mind pumping!! This is my gift to you all to start off the New Year!

If you ever need support on starting or moving forward with your life list, drop me a message.  I am here.

On my blog I share tons of tips and tools but also my own life list achievements. Take a look at these 4:

Who cares?

When Madonna was interviewed by Ryan SeaCrest she said, “Ryan, You are so gay you don’t even like boys.”

It is funny how guys who seem to be gay are quickly labeled and questioned. As if we really all need to know who they are sleeping with? Do we even care? But we insist on labeling people so we can put them in a box.

I was once at a club and a guy started talking to me. He mentioned at least 10 times how great it was that he was str8 acting. Finally, I couldn’t take it anymore and said, “You think you are str8 acting but you are doing a horrible job at it because you are already hitting on a gay guy.”

I have noticed how it is so important that we know if a guy is gay or not. If not, it is as if we do not know how to handle them. It is even worse when guys know who they are but they feel they must “act” a certain way to still be accepted.

Love is love.

The Jar and the Coffee

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the jar… and the coffee…

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in
front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very
large and empty jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it
was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar.

He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas
between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was
full.

They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar.
Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if
the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous “yes.”

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

“Now,” said the professor, as the laughter subsided, “I want you to
recognize that this jar represents your life.

The golf balls are the important things. Your family, your children,
your faith, your health, your friends, and your favorite passions.
Things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your
life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter.
Your job, your house, and your car. The sand is everything else. The
small stuff.

If you put the sand into the jar first,” he continued, “there is no
room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you
spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have
room for the things that are important to you.

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play
with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your
partner out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to
clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls
first, the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is
just sand.”

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee
represented.

The professor smiled. “I’m glad you asked. It just goes to show you
that no matter how full your life may seem, there’s always room for a
couple of cups of coffee with a friend.”

My mom sent this to and it made me laugh!

“A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.” – Herm Albright, (1876-1944)

I so agree to this! I know this works great especially at work. You can make a game of it. Whenever I am in a meeting or around people who are so negative and just want to complain and make excuses, I start being the most positive I can. Always seeing the other perspective and ways to offer solutions.

It does 2 great things for me:

1. It makes me valuable. People come to me when they are feeling down or negative because they want to brainstorm ways to get out of it. Which also means, they help me whenever I need some support.

2. It annoys negative people to death which means they do not want to be around me. This reduces the amount of people I have to listen to moan about their lives and how much they dislike other people.

I like to be around people who are fun and full of life. People are wanting to be the best that they can be. Just motivates me even more!

Believe

Continuing with my Sea World theme for the week, I went and saw the new show, Believe while I was there. During the show they said I quote that I just love:

"There is a moment when you stop wondering and just believe."

It really sums up a lot of what holds me back from really living life out loud. I allow self doubt to creep in and keep me from taking action and moving forward. I can spend a lot of time thinking of the best solution, asking others for advice and their opinions and then finally I may make a choice.

If I would just stop wondering about what to do and just believe in myself, I will make the best choice and move forward in life. It is hard sometimes just to believe in yourself but I am getting better at it throughout the years. I see the great results I get when I believe in myself so I know it is my best bet.
