With the whole kidney stone drama, I was drinking a lot of water. A LOT. Almost 3 to 4 quarts a day. This of course resulted me having to use the restroom even more.

I do not know if I have ever shared the fact I do not like to use public restrooms. It took me many years to stop waiting until I got home from work and would use the restroom in the office. It took me even longer to use the restrooms in restaurants, theme parks and at concerts. I learned it wasn’t healthy PLUS I couldn’t wait that long to pee anymore.

But since I was forced to use the restroom even more with my increased drinking I started to noticed something that really freaks me out in restrooms, people talking to you.

Now it is one thing to go in with a friend you know and talk a little. BUT, I hate when you are in there and someone you barely know or even a stranger decides to start talking to you.

I have always been the type of person that people randomly talk to all the time. I do not mind, I actually love it but not in the restroom. It just freaks me out. Maybe not so much freaks me out but stops me from peeing. I have to admit, I am pee shy. YES, Michael Moniz is pee shy. So talking to me stops me from being able to do exactly what I needed to do while I am in there.

I noticed this recently because drinking so much means my bladder is screaming to be emptied and I get stuck having a conversation and pretending to go so they will leave and I can get some relief. Maybe I just need to stick to the stalls.

Isn’t funny how you love a three day weekend because you get that extra day off BUT when you return to work the next day, it still feels like a Monday!

Here are 5 reasons to be excited about today and survive your Labor Day Hangover:

Lunch Recap Party – Nothing makes the day fly by then taking a extended lunch with friends to catch up all everyone’s 3 day weekend. Better yet, if you spent it together you can remind everyone of the naughty things they did.

4 day week - It maybe feel like a Monday BUT it is Tuesday and that means it is a short week. Before you know it, the weekend is here again!

Get Focused – The 3 day weekend is over and it is time to revisit your goals and get enthused about the week. Take a few moments to review what you are working towards and why you are back at work this week. When you have a goal, it makes it easier to work each day to achieve your vision.

Balance your Day – Just because the weekend is over doesn’t mean you can not still have fun! Make sure your day is balanced with working, taking breaks and laughing. Work doesn’t have to be boring. We can always find ways to make our days more enjoyable.

Self Reflect – What made the weekend so special? Was it freedom? Was it more time for yourself? Did you get to do fun things? Spend more time with friends or family? Whatever it was that made the weekend great can be added to your regular life! Why wait for a 3 day weekend to have fun or have time for yourself? Think about how you can create that exact feeling again during each week so you can enjoy life more.

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the jar… and the coffee…

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in
front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very
large and empty jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it
was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar.

He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas
between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was
full.

They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar.
Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if
the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous “yes.”

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

“Now,” said the professor, as the laughter subsided, “I want you to
recognize that this jar represents your life.

The golf balls are the important things. Your family, your children,
your faith, your health, your friends, and your favorite passions.
Things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your
life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter.
Your job, your house, and your car. The sand is everything else. The
small stuff.

If you put the sand into the jar first,” he continued, “there is no
room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you
spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have
room for the things that are important to you.

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play
with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your
partner out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to
clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls
first, the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is
just sand.”

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee
represented.

The professor smiled. “I’m glad you asked. It just goes to show you
that no matter how full your life may seem, there’s always room for a
couple of cups of coffee with a friend.”

I purchased American Idol Encore game for my wii. It is a karaoke game where you sing songs and see if you can be the next American Idol. Justin and I play it at home and I sing my heart out. Of course I can not sing well but I do not care it is all about fun.

My friends love the game and we sing in front of each other. They are always shy at first but I tell them to have fun. Who cares! We are friends and just should have fun. Why are we so scared to sing in front of our friends? Is it because we are insecure or are we afraid to be judged?

Many of my friends tell me it is hard to sing in front of others. They don’t see me posting a video of myself singing on my blog…

Well here you go. Here is a short video of me singing to one of my favorite songs from the American Idol Encore game. I made it short so you wouldn’t have to suffer through too much of my singing but I want you to see that I am living life out loud. Are you?
