If…

This week’s questions:

If you could have permanent possession of any single object in the world, what would you want it to be?

My first choice was a wonderful beach house on a private beach but then I started to think more about it. What if I owned an object that would bring me more money?

I thought maybe it would good to own the Empire State Building. Maybe it would be great to own Walt Disney World Orlando. :) You could set yourself up for life. Then you could make all your dreams come true!

If you could have had the starring role in one film already made, which movie would you pick?

I have to go back through my favorite list of movies and think which one would be the best to be in.

I would love to be in Moulin Rouge. That movie is one of my favorites and it looks like it would be so much fun to be in. But, I would have to be able to sing so I do not think it would do as well with me in the lead. I better left singing in the car and shower, not in public.

So I am going to choose Scream. Not only did it get 2 more sequels but it was just a great movie. It would be fun to star in a horror movie especially the one that changed how horror movies were made for awhile. Great cast and great film. It would be a fun project to work on and see on the big screen.

If you could return for one year to one age in your life, knowing what you know now, to relive that year as you wish, which year would you go back to?

I would go back and live my 21st year. I know you can’t change the past but it would be so much fun to be 21 again knowing what I know now. I wouldn’t want it to change my life but just get to fix all the missed opportunities I had. I spent too much time in inaction. I let my insecurities keep me from truly living the life I wanted back then. Now I am come so far, I would just live it up and enjoy it!

I think the main reason we ever think about going back to the past is because of what we missed out on. This is why we have to live our lives now. We do not always get a great question like this to allow us to go back.

If you had to identically repeat any single year of your life to date, without changing a thing, which year would you relive?

This would be so hard to relive a year of your life knowing you would have to experience it all over just as it was.

I would choose to be in the fifth grade again. I remember having so much fun that year in school. It would be great to remember what life was like when you were a kid and the biggest problem you had was making it home before the street lights came on. I think it would so much fun to revisit old friends, spend my time laughing and excited that it is my last year before middle school. It was a great time.

Those are my answers for this week’s questions. What are yours?

If…

Here are my questions for this week…

If you could inherit a comfortable home in any city in the world that you could use but not sell, where would you want it to be?

I would want to be in Orlando. I know, why wouldn’t I move? My friends and family are here. I have lived my whole life in Orlando so it is my home. I enjoy knowing the history of the town. Orlando is also a major tourist destination and I am lucky enough to live here year round. My favorite place to go to is the beach and we have the most coast line in the US. You can not beat Orlando weather. It is always sunny and I love the beautiful blue skies.

Now, where would I live in town? I think I would either live downtown in a condo with a view of Lake Eola (of course not too high up) so I can watch the fireworks from my living room. Or I would like a place in Baldwin Park which is just off downtown. But I did inherit it so I can not be picky, can I?

If you could inherit a vacation home anywhere in the world in which you could spend one month a year, but that you could never sell, where would it be?

I would want it to be located on a private beach on Siesta Key in Sarasota, Florida. I would want to be able to see the sun set every evening from the house. I would love to have a nice pool overlooking the ocean but always a nice stretch of private beach all for my guests and myself to enjoy. A perfect beach view without any hotels in the way.

Why would I pick someone in Florida? Because I would thinking the Caribbean but if a hurricane comes I want to be able to get inland. This way, I will only have to drive back to my inherited home in Orlando. I will be all set.

If you could suddenly possess an extraordinary talent in one of the arts, what would you like it to be?

I would love to be able to sing and it would be an amazing singing voice. I love to sing now but I am so bad. Being able to sing and people would actually like it, would be a great positive change.

I do not think I would do it professional. I think it would be way too much stress to perform all the time as a singer. PLUS, I love to talk so much and I sure as a singer you have to save your voice. I would be so screwed. :)

If you could be instantly fluent in one other language that you currently do not read or speak, which would it be?

I would want it to be spanish. I think it would be so handy in life. I am always wanted to learn spanish but I honestly think it would take me a long time to get it down. I remember always practicing in school and I seem to never be able to pronounce the words right. I still have problems with speaking english.

Everyone knows I want to learn American Sign Language but I really think I can get that down so, I would take the courses for it and learn spanish right away.

If…

This is week four in my personal “If… Project” in which I answer questions from the book “If… (Questions for the Game of Life)”

This week’s questions:

If you could change one thing in the world right now, what would you alter?

I would work on helping people get a better understanding about making fun of people for being gay. I would want to help people see how gay jokes are not funny and hurt a lot of the GLBT members. We still believe it is ok to make fun of people for being gay.

An example I love to use is straight men. They find that it is a great joke by making comments doubting their friend’s sexuality or making them to be less of a man because of gay traits or descriptions. They may say it is all in good fun but really it is saying it is better to be straight than gay.

It is not about prejudice but about education. This type of joking has been allowed for such a long time I do not think people even realize they are making people feel less than others. This is the whole issue with gay rights and treating people fairly.

If you had to assassinate one famous person who is alive right now, who would it be, and how would you do it?

Seriously, I can not think of anyone to kill. I just think it is wrong besides you may get rid of someone you do not like but someone worse may take their place.

With that said, Ryan Seacrest you are lucky I am in a giving mood…

If you could permanently alter one thing about your physical appearance, what would you change?

Everyone knows it would be not to lose my hair. It is a part of life in my family but I would like not to have to deal with it. It was one of the only physical things that makes me feel insecure. It would be nice to not have to worry about it anymore.

If you could have stopped aging at any point in your life up to the present, how old would you want to remain?

I am not sure if I want to stop aging. I think it is all about the process. I have learned that each year brings something new. Maybe I would stop right after I turned 30 this year. I think it is going to be a great milestone and great year.

You are really only as old as you choose to be.

If…

Here are this week’s IF questions…

If you could alter one physical characteristics of your mate, what would you change?

What would I change? I do not know if I would. If I did he wouldn’t really be who I fell in love with. I know I could come up with a list of things I could change about myself so maybe I would just ask him what he wanted and make his wish come true. I do not know but I do not think there is anything to change physically.

Now, with that said, I would like to cut his ties with his GPS “Emily”. :)

If you could dine alone with anyone from any period in history, which person would it be?

Like my friend Nick said, these dining questions are coming up A LOT. I really can not come up with anyone else to eat with. Maybe one of my friends so we can laugh and enjoy our time? I know I love to eat but how many more dining questions do I have to answer! :)

Maybe I am tired of inviting people. I want someone to invite me from history. So who is it going to be…I am waiting…

If you could, in retrospect, change one thing about your childhood, what would it be?

Again, I do not know if I would change anything because it made me who I am. But, I do know something I would change. I would change being bullied in school for being gay.

I, of course, hadn’t come to terms with it at the time. I was in middle school and a day didn’t go by where the boys were not calling me a fag. Not just saying it, which happened everyday, but making a point to crowd around me and taunt me almost to tears. I knew better not to cry because that meant it only got worse. I watched as my friends would slowly pull away from me. They didn’t stand up for me or support me, they just looked down and were embarrassed to be seen with me. I never felt so alone in my life.

This happened so publicly that I am surprised an adult never stepped in. Then again, they were too busy dealing with their lives and it was just another kid being teased. There were tons of times adults would jump in when racial slurs were mentioned or girls were attacked but being gay was not protected. It was OK to call a kid a fag.

In the 8th grade my mom withdrew me to be home schooled after the 3rd year of taking the abuse. I was finally free from it all and was able to pick myself back up. My mom saved me.

I wish I would have stood up for myself. I wish I wasn’t so scared back then. I wish I wouldn’t have all the insecurity issues I had to work on because of this experience. BUT, this experience made me who I am today. This is why I stand up for myself NOW. This is why I stand up for others who are being bullied or treated unfairly. This is why I learned to choose better friends who are with you through thick and thin. This is why I learned to love myself.

If you could have any room in the world become your bedroom from now on, which room would you choose?

I would love an open air room that is on the ocean. I would love to have a bed where you can wake up and see and hear the ocean waves crashing. I would love to open the windows to feel the ocean breeze in my room and smell the salty air.

If…

This is week two in the “If… Project” in which I answer questions from the book “If… (Questions for the Game of Life)” My friend Nick started this off so you can read his answers over on his blog.

These are this week’s questions and my answers:

If you could have lived through any war in history (without actually fighting in it), which would it be?

Honestly, I can not come up with one single war I would want to live through. Of course, I wouldn’t want to die either but I do not think living in a war time is the best time of life. Conflict is always going to happen and we will have defend our rights but it is said that lives are still lost. I thank all those men and women who choose to protect our freedom. Thank you for all that you do because I know I wouldn’t be able to do it.

If you could eliminate any one type of insect permanently from the earth, what would you get rid of?

In Florida we have huge roaches so I would get rid of them. They gross me out and always show up when you least expect it causing you to scream like a little girl. I am sure the moment I get rid of them, it will cause some off balance and we will be attacked by spiders or ants but I really would like to see roaches gone.

If you had to eliminate a single type of animal forevermore, which would you choose?

Snakes would be gone for sure. When I listed the 150 things about me, I mentioned how I am so scared of snakes. They just freak me out! I think it is the way they move and how they are so slow and then so fast. They also hide a lot so they come out of no where and cause me to scream like a little girl, AGAIN. I know I would not miss them at all.

If you could have an elegant dinner alone with anyone presently alive, whether you know them or not, who would you want it to be?

Well, I know I would not pick someone I didn’t know. I wouldn’t want to spend a whole meal with someone I was meeting the first time besides, who knows if I would even like them in person. I would choose Justin. He would like the experience and most likely would have done tons of research about the place before we got there. He would laugh at my jokes and would let me just be myself. I wouldn’t have to worry about pretending to fit in and could really just enjoy the dinner. PLUS, Justin would so carry the takeout boxes for me.

There are my answers for this week’s questions. What are yours?
