30 Goals for My 30th Year

October is here and the countdown to my 30th milestone birthday on the 14th has begun. I always like to take time around my birthday to plan how I want my next year to look like. It is time to think about the goals I want to achieve in the next year.

Here are my 30 goals:

  1. Go on my first cruise
  2. Go on the segway tour at EPCOT
  3. Go to Vegas
  4. Complete a 5K and get a medal
  5. Do the Beluga Whale Interaction at Sea World
  6. Complete my first book
  7. Start my “Coaching for a Year” program for my clients
  8. Work on my fear of flying
  9. Go on a haunted ghost tour
  10. Participate in National Novel Writing Month
  11. Go in a shark cage
  12. Go to Not So Scary Mickey’s Halloween Party
  13. Go to Howl O Scream in Tampa
  14. Eat dinner alone at a sit down restaurant for the first time
  15. Go for a walk at least 4 days a week
  16. Keep a gratitude journal

Some of my goals are big and some of my goals are small. It is about completing the dreams that are in my head right now and turning them into reality. I don’t won’t to look back on life with a bunch of would’ve, should’ve, and could’ve. Do you?

What is one goal you want to achieve this year? Let’s celebrate together!

Dream BIG

I love to set goals. Come on, I am a life coach so I help people to set goals all the time so I must love them. Sometimes, though, you have to dream big. All your goals do not have to be steps to a major accomplishment. I like to think about something big I would like and just put it out there and see where it takes me.

My BIG dream is to be on Ellen’s TV show. I do not know why I will be on the show but I know I want an invitation to be a guest on the show. Could be a small segment, could be a guest on the couch, it doesn’t matter. It is all about actually being on the show.

Wouldn’t it be fun to turn on Ellen one day and see me there? Could you imagine how I will feel when I accomplish this one day? It is not about if it will happen, it is all about when it will happen. :)

What is a BIG dream you have?

Bold Goals

200808101811.jpg

It is very healthy to make goals in life. It allows us to create a plan so we get what we want out of life. I encourage all my clients to set up goals for the year that move them closer to their current visions.

I also like clients and myself to make one bold goal. Something that will make ours lives exciting or more interesting. A goal that is not easily achieved but requires us to really plan and work hard to make it happen. I also always make sure I give myself a large window to achieve it maybe 5 to 10 years because I want to think very bold.

I just recent set a HUGE bold goal for myself. I want to spend a month in Sydney, Australia. For some reason I have always felt drawn to Australia and wanted to visit for sometime. It is a very long flight so I want to make sure to get the full experience. I want to spend a month there to really enjoy my time and learn a lot about their culture. I think it would be a great experience to live somewhere outside the States for a short time.

So there is my bold goal, what is yours?

I am Lazy

Do you remember me telling you about the 5K I signed up for at the beginning of the year? I had so many months to train for this event and thought there was no doubt I could get it done.

In May, I posted a blog entry talking about how I still hadn’t started training and the time was getting near. I knew I would get motivated and start training.

It is August and the event is September 27th and I still have not started training.

My friend Nick has tried to get me going on my training but I just can’t seem to jump in. Could it because of the running? Could it be because I am afraid to fail? Could it be that I have never seen myself as athletic and I am scared to try? Could it be that I just don’t like exercise and I am lazy?

There can be one reason or hundreds but something is keeping me from creating forward movement on this goal. It is time for me to do something to move me forward.

What do you suggest I do to get moving?

Tell a Friend

Do you have a goal you have been working on but have not shared it with anyone? Why not?

I think one of the main reasons we do not share our goals with others is accountability. We are afraid once we say it out loud to then we will really have to do it. Not only because we have now verbalized it but because our friends and family will know if we succeed or fail.

I know I always achieve better results when I share my goals with my friends and family. It makes me take my goal serious and really put the work into making them happen. Now I have cheerleaders helping support me along the way and they keep me motivated to achieve my goal.

With that said, I am going to share a goal with all of you. I have set a goal to increase my email blog subscribers. I am hoping that I can gain more people who will enjoy my blog and decide to receive my blog updates in their email each day. I am hoping all of you will help me out by forwarding my blog to people you feel would enjoy reading what I have to say. Please encourage them to even comment because I love the interaction.

Maybe they will even subscribe by email and help me achieve my goal. Who wouldn’t want a little Michael in their email each morning? :)
