Bathroom Fears

I have always been a little pee shy when it comes to using public restrooms. It took me many years to finally start using them during my work day instead of just waiting ALL DAY until I went home.

I do not know why but I am so nervous for people in the restroom to hear me pee. I KNOW. It is so silly and it is not like someone is listening for me to pee so they can point and laugh at me. I just have a weird thing about public restrooms.

Today I used the restroom and then headed to sink to wash my hands as another guy walked in. He looked pretty shocked to see me in there and I thought he must have a bathroom phobia as well.

As I was washing my hands, I was thinking about how it is silly to be afraid to have people hear you pee because that is why you are using the restroom in the first place. I was hoping my hand washing was not making him nervous and I quickly dried them off to leave.

As I started to leave, I giggled to myself because I could hear him peeing and then in a scary little kid voice thought, “I CAN HEAR YOU PEEING!!”

The guy at the urinal quickly turned around and was looking at me in horror. I realized at this exact moment, as my words were echoing through the empty bathroom, that I hadn’t said, “I CAN HEAR YOU PEEING!!” in my head BUT I had actually used my creepy kid voice and said it out loud!

I ran as fast as I could to get out of there and the building. I couldn’t believe I had just freaked a poor guy out in the bathroom by saying, “I CAN HEAR YOU PEEING!!” in a creepy voice. If the guy did have a phobia, I can guarantee he will never use a public restroom again.

Stori Telling

200809071348.jpg

This weekend I finished reading Tori Spelling’s book. I really liked it. Of course, as you know, I am a 90210 fan so it was great getting an insight what happened behind the scenes. You also get to learn about her life growing up, her relationships and how she found true love in an unconventional way.

A lot of people may have read the book to her about her relationship with her mother and how their fighting came to be. But, I think the book is really about love and how you realize that you must create the life you want to live against all odds. It is also about the fact that life is not a fairy tale no matter how famous, how rich or how success you are.

As I have mentioned before, I am writing a book and finishing up the details. When you write about your life, you truly think no one would want to read it. But of course, I am reading about people’s lives all the time and I learn so much from them. It always gives me energy again to continue writing so I can share my story.

Slice of Life

I went to Universal this past weekend and it reminded me of a story when I was 22:For my 22nd birthday a group of friends and I went to Halloween Horror Nights as we do every year. The event is always a lot of fun and it gets you excited about the Halloween season.

Universal creates amazing haunted houses and you never know what you will find in each as you enter into the darkness. The park is always packed with people so you have to stand in lines which last for 30 minutes to 2 hours waits to run through the haunted house screaming and covering your eyes. It is well worth it.

While standing in line, my friend Christy noticed a good-looking, tanned, built, guy who was juggling swords for entertainment for all of us in line. She pointed him out to me as we rounded yet around turn in the endless wait for the haunted house.

Christy started to drool over the theme park worker and was starting to primp herself the closer and closer we got to him. My friend Jacob told her he has to be gay. Christy insisted that was not the case, even though she was notorious for liking gay guys. I agreed with Jacob and told her not to waste her time. Competitive as she was, she insisted she could get him to go on a date with her. She turned to me and said, “Lets make this a bet. If I get him to go out on date with me, I get to stand behind you and flash people your dick through out the haunted house.”

Of course, I am not one to turn down a dare. I said back, “Sure but if I get him to go out on a date with me, I get to stand behind you and flash your boobs to everyone in the haunted house.” Christy laughed and agreed. I could tell by her eyes she did not think I was any competition for her and she was off to land this date.

I had to run to keep up with her as we dashed out of the line to where he was now balancing a bowling pin on his chin. She walked up to the railing, smiled and motioned for him to come over. He looked at us for a moment, placed his pin down and walked slowly over. I swear it was if he was a model on the catwalk during a 90’s Calvin Klein show the way he walked with a purpose and somehow was able to lift his shirt just so to flash his abs at us. I do not know if it was the Florida humidity, my nerves or his abs but I broke out in a cold sweat.

He approached and said he and admitted I heard his Aussie accent and my knees gave way. I turned and say Christy posed like a lioness about to sink her teeth into a juicy gazelle and I knew I had to pull it together.

She immediately jumped into her flirting routine by asking him silly boring questions which had nothing to do with why we were here. She told him he was so talented and how he was so built. She laughed at his jokes and made sure to touch him as much as she could. He mentioned how he thought this haunted house was one of the best and she told him she gets so scared and she made him to comfort her when she was done.

I couldn’t take it anymore and in standard Michael fashion I blurted out why we were there. “WOUD YOU RATHER GO TO THE MOVIES WITH HER OR ME?!!!!” Both of them turned and looked at me stunned. Christy gave me a look of death for so bluntly stated why we were really here and ruining her game. The Aussie realized as well the game that was being played, smiled and responded, “I would rather go to the movies with her…” Those words barely left his both and Christy turned to me with that evil smirk she would get whenever she won. It was her way of not stabbing you in the back but right through the heart and twisting it until you dropped to your knees.

Christy then turned to the Aussie again and before she could speak he said, “Yes I would rather sit quietly next to you in the movies and share popcorn but I would rather fuck him.”

With that, Christy turned, away from me, headed back in line faster than her gallop to get to the Aussie in the first place. I smiled at the Aussie and he gave me a wink back and I returned to the line where neither of us had to share the results with our friends. It was obvious I had one this bet along with all the boys in the haunted house who got to see Christy’s flashing her boobs.

Keep Your Eye On The Ball

When I was in school, I always dreaded Physical Education or PE for short. We wuld get separated into boys and girls and placed on softball teams. The “coach” would always pick team captains from his favorite athletic players and they would then pick teams.

I would always be picked last.

I was always placed in the outfield (and I mean WAY outfield) where I would basically just sit and sun bathe until it was our turn to bat. Then I would be placed at the end of the bench so I was the last person to hit ball. Of course when it was my turn, my own team would let out a sign of disgust and everyone on the other team would smile and move very close in. Like I wasn’t nervous enough, this would cause me to sweat more and just pray the misery would end soon.

One summer day, a kid named Mike, on the other team, decided it was time to taunt me. Mike and I had been in school together since Kindergarten. When I got up to play he started calling me names and laughing about how I should be playing with the girls because at least I could do their nails.

I couldn’t believe someone who was nicknamed Mike “Booger” because of his last name would turn against me, the only boy who never called him that name. He didn’t think it was funny and stood up for him many times.

The other boy’s on his team started joining in and I just wanted to run and cry but I didn’t for some reason, I just got pissed.

Maybe it was the hot summer humidity, maybe it was being tired of being picked last or maybe it was just time but I was pissed at all the boys, every one of them but especially Mike who should have known how it felt to be picked on.

I walk up to bat. I knew when the pitcher threw the ball I would miss and spin myself around from swinging the bat which would lead to even more teasing. But it was different this time, I was pissed. When I get to the plate, all I can think about is Mike “Booger” and his comments and name calling. He is still leading the pack taunting me and even the “coach” has started laughing at their names.

The pitcher throws the ball and I swing. I swing as Mike says, “Don’t break a nail” and shakes his limp wrist gesture at me and mimics me crying.

WHACK! I hit that damn ball and I hit it hard

Everyone was in shock. No one on either teamed moved as I dropped the bat and started to hail ass around the bases. No one had moved as I smiled when I made it to third and realized I was going to make it home. No one had moved when I hit home plate with a giant smile on my face and turned to see all the boys crowded in a circle on the field.

Yes, no one had moved when I hit that ball because no one expected, especially Mike “Booger”. The ball I hit so hard went flying straight into Mike’s right eye. No one, especially him was prepared for the hit and it knocked him HARD in the eye. Everyone was crowded around him as he laid, in the crawled up like a baby, on the green grass crying and sobbing loudly as he covered his eye with both if his hands.

I just stared at the circle of boys when one of Mike’s teammates looked up and said, “LOOK WHAT YOU DID! Aren’t you going to say sorry?!!!”

I slowly walked over to the boys and said, “I am sorry. I am sorry, Mike, that I hit you in the eye but at least I didn’t break a nail.”

I smirked and walked away.

Happier

Did I mention I was reading the book Happier? It is a great book filled with tons of great activities.  What I love best about the book is the whole idea of happiness. The book talks about how we spend our lives wanting to be happy. So we work and work on trying to be happy never realizes we are happy. We just want to be happier. When you learn to let go of this place called happy where you life will be perfect then you can truly seek what you are looking for and find it. Find the ways to make your life happier. The book gives you some great activities to work on to make yourself happier. One is an activity I really believe in practice myself for awhile. It is the idea of keeping a gratitude journal. A gratitude journal is where at the end of the day you write down 5 things you are grateful for. By doing this, you end each day thinking about the positive side of your day and it just sets you up to realize how much you truly have in life.I have not been the best at keeping up with it but I promised myself to do it every night for now on. I use a school calendar book to record them. It has space for each day to right your school assignments where I just write my 5 things I am grateful for. It is also lets me see if I skip a day very quickly. :)  Today I will share with you 5 things I am grateful for and hopefully, you will share 5 with me in the comments.I am grateful for:

  • the great Florida sunshine
  • the fact I laugh out loud at least once a day
  • my great family and boyfriend who love me so much
  • iphone so I have music to play the soundtrack of my life where every I go
  • you taking the time to read this entry and I hope to see you around again

Stop the Bullys!

Did you know it is legal to bully people in the workplace? Yes it is. Hostile working environment is a totally different situation than being bullied. It is OK for co-workers not to be nice or even bully you at work. You are not protected.

Even in our schools, we allow students to be bullied by their peers and teachers and administrators will not step in, even if they are aware of it, unless it becomes physical. BECOMES physical so once you are hit or stabbed then they will act to stop the violence not the bullying which could continue tomorrow.

When I was being bullied in school, all I wanted was one friends to stand up for me but it never happened. I just wanted one teacher to see what was going on and stop it but they didn’t.

So I have made a pledge to never let a bully get away on picking on others. When I see it at work, store, movies, or at a party I speak up. Why do I speak up, because remaining quiet makes me just as guilty as the bully.

Here is a great book to read about bullying. It will give you new insight on the topic:

The Bully, the Bullied and the Bystander

Help me stop the bullys!
