7 Personal Truths

I believe we all have personal truths about ourselves. These personal truths outline who were, how we act, or how our life will be. They are not true for everyone. They are only true for you.

When you start to learn more and more about yourself, you start to notice these truths. Some of wonderful while others we wish were not true. We always have the opportunity to make changes and our truths can grow and change with us.

After thinking for awhile, here are 7 personal truths about me:

1. I am my worst enemy – I tend to be the most critical of myself. A lot of the problems I face in life are created by myself. I put them there by over thinking, playing with my fears and feeding myself self doubt. I have to work on building a better relationship with myself to reduce this love/hate relationship.

2. I can have whatever I want – I have noticed that I always seem to achieve what I want in life. There is a catch though. I have to truly want it. I have to be willing to work for it, stick with it, and, at all costs, stay focused. I think I could move a mountain if I wanted to. I would just have to be willing to get off the couch.

3. I am vulnerable – I wear my heart on my sleeve. I do not have a hard, thick skin. I can not pretend not to care or ignore something. I am sensitive and I can get hurt when I truly care about you or the situation. I do not try to even change.

4. I am an open book – Look a this blog. I share it all. I am not afraid to put it all out there. I have nothing to hide. I am not good at keeping secrets and I am always blunt with what I say. I just believe it is better you see me for who I am, then assume who you think I am.

5. I have no patience – I want it all and I want it RIGHT NOW. I am not a very patient person. I always look for the fast way to do something. I am not good with waiting for anything. I like everything now, now and NOW.

6. I am silly – I do not want to be serious all the time or even some of the time. I tend to want to live life laughing. I enjoy being silly and having fun. I think life can take us to places where times are tough and may seem dark. We have the opportunity to always be having fun and laughing.

7. I love you!

8 Powerful Questions to Ask Yourself

Sometimes when we get stuck in life we need a little shift of perspective. We need to think about things from a different view.
I have shared some questions in the past such as this one, that one, and of course this one.
Here are some more powerful questions I use to help me shift how I am looking at my current situation:
  1. If you knew everything would turn out just right, what would you do?
  2. If fear was not part of the equation, what might you do?
  3. What would you do if you no longer held yourself back?
  4. How would life feel if you no longer judged yourself by everyone else’s standards?
  5. How do you go from merely liking yourself to loving yourself?
  6. When you listen to your heart, what does it say?
  7. Letting go of all the “what ifs” of life, how do you want this to turn out?
  8. If you didn’t worry about what others thought of you, what would you do?

9 Things You Didn’t Know About Me (until now)

Did you think there was more you could learn more about me? I did share 150 things about me and then shared another 100 so what else could I share with you?

Well…

1. When I was younger, I wanted to be a singer so I would spend hours on end practicing my singing in my bedroom to Debbie Gibson’s Lost in Your Eyes. My parents never once said anything negative about my singing. I learned as I grew up that singing isn’t one of my strengths in life. Doesn’t stop me from singing. Of course, I do think part of the reason my parents have a hard time hearing today is because of the years of my singing.

2. When I have a hard time deciding what to do, choice to make, which to pick I flip a coin. It happens to be on my iPhone now but it is how I will make the choice. Does it mean I follow what the coin says? NO! It just helps me see which one I really want and get me out the silly gridlocks I put myself in.

3. On my right hand, on my middle finger knuckle I grow one, long, dark, thick, hair once and while. I do not know why but it appears out of no where and I pluck it. I believe it is happens around the full moon as it is sign I am part werewolf.

4. I learned how to bake from being home alone over the summer when I was a kid. During that time I learned how to make the perfect cookie dough. Of course, I never got to baking it because I wasn’t allowed to use the oven when I was home alone. I really only wanted the dough. I would just eat it. BEST. LUNCH. EVER.

5. My neighbors across the street from me never wave to me. I always do the polite wave when I see them. They just stare at me. I could stop but NO! Every time I see them, I wave even more as if I am a little kid who is seeing Mickey Mouse or their grandparents. I wave like crazy! I am going to break them.

6. When I was single and someone would ask me out, I would always say yes. I knew how nervous I was about asking people out. If you had the balls to ask me out then I would always say yes just for the courage alone. Maybe that is how I got known for being easy…

7. I have a very hard time saying no. I do not want to hurt people’s feelings. Of course this means I hurt them by not being honest with them. Maybe it is because I am afraid they won’t like me but I guess not being upfront hurts them more. I also do not do well with pressure. If I feel any pressure about plans I shut down. I like to know I always have a choice. Something I need to work on.

8. I had a huge crush on Jeremy Jordan in the Right Kind of Love video. I use to (well still do) listen to his CD over and over again. I thought he was so cool that I brought the exact same clothes he had on in the video including the necklace. I would tan and I also did crunches so I would get his abs. To be 14 or 15 again. So silly. :)

9. Do you know how some old people lick their lips constantly? Well it freaks me out. Seriously, it freaks me out!! I can not handle it!! I was once on a tram to Disney and this old man sat near me and kept doing it. I couldn’t handle it!! I thought I would scream at any moment. I do not know what causes it and I hope it is not something that happens to me. It just freaks me out!!

I like being open. Sharing more about myself lets people get to know me and allows me to even reflect back on things I have done, do or think about. It is nice to open up to people. It is freeing.

What is something I do not know about you?

Share a Life Lesson

I think we all know those life lessons we have learned a long the way. Here are a few of mine:

  1. The worry about something is always way worse than the actual something.
  2. When it takes me a long time to decide on a choice, it is always end up doing the choice I wanted to do in the very beginning.
  3. To have good friends, you have to be a good friend.
  4. You are never too busy to have fun.
  5. Laughter is one of the best medicines around.
  6. I would rather try something and have it not work out than always dream about maybe doing it one day.
  7. I am my own worse enemy most times.
  8. To be truly good, you have to be a little bad.
  9. Being yourself is always good enough.
  10. In time, everything always turns in your favor.

What is a life lesson you want to share?

Missed Me?

I know I have been bad with posting lately.

I have been overwhelmed with a lot of excitement lately and have busy getting everything into order. Of course this meant I neglected the blog, you and guess what? Even myself.

I was very excited about the launch of my book that I never really sat down to think about everything that may come with this. I thought, “I wrote a book and would just be happy to have it done and out there.” I was surprised. There was a lot more to go along with this.

It has all been wonderful things but I didn’t expect it would take so much of my time and energy. I think it is easier to prepare for something not to work out instead of planning for things to go crazy.

I admit, I prepare myself for disappointment a lot more than I prepare for success. I feel it is my way of controlling the situation so when it doesn’t work out, it doesn’t hurt as much. Does it really hurt less? Sure. That is what I tell myself but, in reality, it hurts the same.

Well I am back and I am sorry to leave you hanging. :) You know I have stories to tell…
