Michael’s Favorite Things

As we know this is the greatest shopping day of the year. I love Oprah’s favorite things so I like to share some of my favorite things each year to introduce you to some of the great things I have experienced through out the year:

1. iPhone - I do not know what I did without this!! I really love my iPhone and want to let everyone know I think it is so worth the price. I love the way it handles text messages like conversations simple to process. I love how easy it is to check my email from anywhere. Having your music with you is always nice PLUS you can add such cool applications to store information, make life simple and just fill the time when you are waiting in line.

2. Cirque La Nouba - I am a big fan of Cirque and Orlando happens to be home to the show that introduced it to me, La Nouba. It is a great show and every time I see it, it amazes me. I recommend you see it in person but you can not, they have released the DVD of the show. I think after seeing it, you might even enjoy the soundtrack as I do.

3. NAP Blanket - Have you ever touched this blanket at Brookestone? It is so soft and such a nice way to relax. Currently I am getting a new one for my bed. I do not know but once I feel it wrapped around me, I feel all the stress leave my body and just drift away to sleep. You will have to give it a try.

4. Lay It on Think - This is one of my favorite new body products I use. You can buy it at Bed and Body works and it is a great think lotion for all your dry parts. It goes on smooth and it has a nice light and simple scent. Right now, they even have it in a nice holiday body.

5. Happier - I have shared this book before but I enjoyed it so much I want to add it to my favorite things of this year. This book is a simple read but full of great activities to help you move your life to the journey of making it happier. It is all about changing your perspective and allowing you to live your life.

Those are 5 of my favorite things this year. What are some of yours?

Fear

I am thankful for fear.

I am thankful for:

How fear reminds me of my boundaries and how I can push further through them.

Fear allowing me to work on past experiences I haven’t quite dealt with.

Fear making me stronger when I face them.

Fear when it goes away because it keeps me from living my life.

Fear gives me the safe to self reflect and see reality.

Fear because it reminds me that I spend too much time anticipating all the negative “what ifs” instead of the possible potential.

Laughter

I am thankful for laughter.

Thankful for:

Laughing until it hurts at the same movie I have seen so many times.

Laughing at lunch with a good friend over the silly things that happen in life.

Laughing at myself and the embarrassing things I have said or done.

Laughing because it is so much better than crying or getting anger.

Laughing with my family on the past fun times we have had and the new ones we are creating.

Laughing to make the fear go away.

Laughing with good intentions and never wanting to hurt others.

Laughing because it makes life just a little bit easier to live.

Love

I am thankful for love.

Thankful for:

The love my parents give me that reminds me each day how proud I make them.

The love from my brother and sisters that show me I will never me alone in this word.

The love Justin gives me that comes from his pure heart asking for nothing in return.

The love of friends who help me to laugh through life.

The love I have for myself because I am creating the person I am and loving it!

The love I have for some many things in life that allow me to connect with the world.

The love I have for you just because you are reading this. I may not know you but I truly wish you the best and send love to you today.

What Am I Thankful For…

Since Thanksgiving is this week. I thought I would share a few things I am thankful for during this week leading to Thanksgiving. I hoping you start thinking of what you are thankful for and share with me as well.

“Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn’t learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn’t learn a little, at least we didn’t get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn’t die; so, let us all be thankful.”

NO TALKING

With the whole kidney stone drama, I was drinking a lot of water. A LOT. Almost 3 to 4 quarts a day. This of course resulted me having to use the restroom even more.

I do not know if I have ever shared the fact I do not like to use public restrooms. It took me many years to stop waiting until I got home from work and would use the restroom in the office. It took me even longer to use the restrooms in restaurants, theme parks and at concerts. I learned it wasn’t healthy PLUS I couldn’t wait that long to pee anymore.

But since I was forced to use the restroom even more with my increased drinking I started to noticed something that really freaks me out in restrooms, people talking to you.

Now it is one thing to go in with a friend you know and talk a little. BUT, I hate when you are in there and someone you barely know or even a stranger decides to start talking to you.

I have always been the type of person that people randomly talk to all the time. I do not mind, I actually love it but not in the restroom. It just freaks me out. Maybe not so much freaks me out but stops me from peeing. I have to admit, I am pee shy. YES, Michael Moniz is pee shy. So talking to me stops me from being able to do exactly what I needed to do while I am in there.

I noticed this recently because drinking so much means my bladder is screaming to be emptied and I get stuck having a conversation and pretending to go so they will leave and I can get some relief. Maybe I just need to stick to the stalls.

So Straight

There was this guy I knew and he was so straight.

He walked around like a man with a strut trying to pick up the ladies. He drank beer and not the light kind. He made sure it was always Bud. He knew all the stats on his favorite sports team and knew which season each sport played in. He even knew how to play football and could catch and throw the ball.

He wasn’t afraid to kill bugs and he always knew how to fix a car or the lawnmower. He would go outside and enjoy cutting down trees and planting new plants. He knew how to get rid of crab grass and the garden snakes never made him scream.

He would only handshake his male friends and he never cried once, EVER. He didn’t dress up for Halloween and he would never see a chick flick. He didn’t use body wash and only used 2 in 1 shampoo. He never trimmed body hair and couldn’t be bothered to moisturize.

He was way too masculine and spoke with a VERY deep voice. He was tall and built from all his work in the gym. He liked girls a lot. He was always talking about their boobs or their butts. He didn’t listen to Britney Spears or Beyonce but he knew he would bang them.

We never say a guy is too straight. It is never mentioned or talked about it but we are not afraid to say someone is too gay or something is too gay.

Something to think about…
